Applying for Membership

Each year, approximately 45 boys join Amigos Unidos, forming two separate classes within each grade. Boys are eligible if they reside or attend school in Manhattan Beach or Hermosa Beach.  Applications will be posted on this page when available.

Waitlist Applications

All groups are currently full but we are accepting waitlist applications for the classes of 2027 and 2029 (current 10th and 8th graders). Anyone interested in submitting a waitlist application should email amigosunidosmembership@gmail.com to receive the application link. We ask that application requests come from the student and applications will be considered on a space-available basis.

Regular Applications

Regular applications for the Class of 2029 are now closed.

Legacy Applications

Younger brothers of current or former Amigos Unidos who graduated in good standing are invited to submit Legacy Applications from November 1 to November 30 of their 8th grade year for preferential consideration.

Class of 2029 Legacy Applications are now closed.

Legacy applicants may receive preferential consideration if their older sibling is currently or was a 4-year member in good standing as defined by:

  • Completed 100% of required hours each year.

  • Satisfied meeting requirements including any remedies for missed meetings and co-chaired at least one meeting.

  • Maintained the Amigos Unidos honor and conduct code.

Legacy applicants whose siblings do not meet “in good standing” criteria may apply for Amigos Unidos membership without legacy status during the normal January application period.

Additional Information

Applicants must complete the application independent of parental help. As such, please ensure a genuine interest in sustained four-year commitment to community service prior to applying.

Applications will be made available on this web site during the above stated enrollment windows and only at those specified times. Early and late applications will not be accepted. Applications are processed together, not on a first come/first served basis.

Prior to applying, it is expected that an applicant and parent will review the Accountability Rules to fully understand the requirements to becoming and staying an Amigo in good standing. Click here to read our Expectations and Policies.

Requests to be placed with friends are neither solicited nor considered. There is no guarantee of being placed in a group with specific individuals.
